HI there.  My Name is Ric Hansen.  I have probably been responsible for providing DJ entertainment for more school dances around the country than anyone.  That’s what I’ve done exclusively since 1992.  I have had contracts with radio stations in many cities around the country and have dedicated my company’s work to focusing our DJ entertainment company on school dances.

As you well know, over the past several years dances have become a challenge for school administrators.  Lyrical content in hit dance music has become increasingly raunchy, teen dance trends have thrown up red flags and administrators have become frustrated with how to deal with it.  At the same time school personnel have had even less time to devote to the school dance program.

Providing one easy and reliable source for administrators to keep up with music, and dance trends as well as a forum for new and innovative ideas to increase dance attendance and produce more innovative dance events was our goal.  We also are excited to introduce schools to DJ’s who are responsible and interested in working with administrators to create high energy fun dance events.  That’s what the School Dance Network is all about.

In our blogs we will feature continuous useful information that will make the school dance advisor’s life a lot easier.   We also produce a weekly “Top 30 Safe Songs” list and THE NATIONAL “DO NOT PLAY” LIST and we’ll shoot that right to your e mail every week as a subscriber.  We are also including tidbits on other teen scoop including a current slang and text messaging interpretation.

This project is bigger than just our staff, we are hoping that we will have contributions from administrators, faculty, students and DJs.  It will include interviews, links to articles and I encourage anyone with a flair for writing and a desire to share useful content will offer up their talents as guest bloggers.
